What are the points of disagreement for the candidacy of the 2030 games.

Aragon rejects the content of the technical proposal submitted by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) for the joint bid with Catalonia to organize the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Pyrenees. In the words of the president of Aragon, Javier Lambán: "It is not balanced ".

The main points of disagreement lie in the distribution of the modalities and tests, which they consider unfair, which is why they are not going to politically validate this document and will shortly, but slowly, present their own alternative. The name of the candidacy is also a point of friction, since Aragón wants the city of Zaragoza to appear in the name of the candidacy and that the Aragonese capital be one of the cities where the opening or closing ceremony will be held.

The President of the Government of Aragon, Javier Lambán, is upset with the leak on Friday, when the Generalitat de Catalunya assured that a preliminary technical agreement had been reached for Aragón's candidacy. From the government of Aragon they have assured this Tuesday that, after receiving the letter from the COE with the distribution of evidence on Monday, the Aragonese community has not signed that document and will prepare a "fairer, more adequate and balanced" proposal.

"We are not going to sign the document that was sent to us yesterday" with the proposal for distribution of the tests proposed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, said Lambán, who has asserted that the organization of the Winter Games cannot go "to the detriment "From neither side.

Lambán has opted to transfer the negotiation to the "political sphere" unless the COE reconvenes the technical table. He has said that a solo candidacy for Aragon "has no reason to be."

In statements to the media, Javier Lambán has made it clear that the 2030 Winter Games are "an opportunity for Aragon and, particularly, for the Pyrenees", so the regional government will continue "fighting until the end" to achieve it .

He has asserted that "it has to take place under conditions of equality between the two communities in all areas and in terms of balance when it comes to distributing the tests and opportunities that the Winter Games bring."

In view of the fact that in Catalonia they still have to call a referendum so that the population of the Pyrenees decides if they want the Games, Lambán estimates that "there is not much of a hurry" to close this alternative proposal. He did not want to give a specific date or say if that alternative will be before Friday, the day on which the COE summoned the regional governments to politically sign the technical agreement that he sent them by letter yesterday, but he did say that it will be done conscientiously and as quickly as possible.

It will be a well thought out alternative, because Lambán does not want to make a counterproposal that benefits Aragón, but rather one that is acceptable to all parties.

And it is that Aragon, according to its president, has "as much or more capacity" than Catalonia to organize tests, and has a snow holding company, Aramon, which has already made significant investments in its three ski resorts in the Pyrenees.

Lambán has not spoken with the president of the COE, Alejandro Blanco, nor with that of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, nor with the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, after the "leak" referring to a pre-agreement took place that the Government of Aragon continues to deny.
